Biography

Dr. Meike Uhler is board-certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Most recently, Dr. Uhler is Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology on the faculty at Loyola University School of Medicine. Her research interests and scientific publications focus on the evaluation and treatment of female and male infertility.

Q&A

It is so rewarding to be able to help patients in their desire to have families. I have seen many lives positively changed by having a family, and I am fortunate to have a part in this special time.

While I was a medical student, I did research with my professor in further defining the role of hCG in abnormal pregnancies. I did an additional rotation in the fertility clinic in my last year of medical school, and I was able to see a variety of patients including infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and other endocrine disorders. My experiences confirmed my choice to do a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology.

I have a special interest in male infertility due to the research I have done throughout my fellowship and while in academic medicine. Other areas of special interest include recurrent pregnancy loss, raising fertility awareness in young women who may be questioning their fertility potential, and complementary medicine such as acupuncture and yoga.

In my spare time, I like to sing and play the piano, read murder mysteries, and bake desserts.
