But did you know that Yoga has been shown to melt up to 26% of stress away?
Yoga can decrease stress for many issues, infertility being one of them. There are two studies from Fertility Centers of Illinois and Pulling Down the Moon that prove yoga can help patients during treatment to reduce anxiety and depression while boosting feelings of calm, peace, and happiness.
The best part – you will get the same stress-melting results whether you are at home in your pajamas or striking your warrior pose in a yoga studio.
2017 study results found that after a six-week yoga program anxiety was reduced by up to 26 percent for those in an online yoga class and 23 percent for those in an in-person yoga program. Patients followed the Yoga for Fertility ™ program created by Pulling Down the Moon and had the choice to enroll in a six-week in-person yoga program involving a 90-minute fertility yoga class and group discussion or a six-week online yoga program using a DVD-instructed yoga class coupled with a 45-minute online discussion. Yoga postures done as part of the program are safe for those trying to conceive and those using infertility treatments.
2015 study results found that after a six-week yoga program anxiety reduced by 20 percent, while control groups only saw 2-3 percent reduction. Patients also followed the Yoga for Fertility Program and did yoga weekly for six weeks.
Anything to help patients melt stress and relax a top priority – one in three women going through fertility treatment suffer from severe anxiety and depression.
