Our Team
At Fertility Centers of Illinois Chicago/River North IVF Center, we have assembled a team of the most highly accredited embryo scientists who have earned a reputation around the globe for excellence in the field of embryology.
Dr. Beltsos is Medical Director of IVF Chicago - River North Program and one of the managing partners of FCI. She is double board-certified in OB/GYN and in reproductive endocrinology and Infertility (REI). She completed her residency in OB/GYN at Loyola University, followed by a fellowship in REI at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is Clinical Assistant Professor and Educational REI Division Director for the OB/GYN residency programs of Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Lutheran General Hospital, and St. Joseph's Hospital Chicago. Dr. Beltsos is the FCI Clinical Research Divisional Director and participates in a number of research projects and scientific publications. She has received numerous awards in teaching and has been honored as ‘top doctor' from Castle Connelly for several years. She speaks nationally and locally on many topics of REI and is chairperson of the Midwest Reproductive Symposium.
Juergen Liebermann, PhD, HCLD (ABB)
Juergen Liebermann, PhD., HCLD (ABB) is the Laboratory Director of FCI's Chicago/River North IVF Lab. He has authored many papers in the area of reproductive science. More recently Dr. Liebermann and Dr. Tucker edited and completed a book entitled " Vitrification in Human Assisted Reproduction." By getting world-recognized scientists in the field of cryobiology as contributors for this book, it presents the State-of-the-Art on vitrification, a new cryopreservation technique. With his postdoctoral thesis in 2004 he qualified as a university lecturer in Experimental Reproductive Medicine at the Bavarian University of Wuerzburg, Germany. He is a member of SSR, ASRM, ESHRE, ASA, and ABB. He serves as an ad Hoc reviewer for Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction, Reproductive Biomedicine Online, Reproduction, European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology.
Michael J. Tucker, PhD, HCLD (ABB)
Michael Tucker,Ph.D., HCLD (ABB) a World-renowned embryo scientist, is Scientific Advisor of the Embryology Lab at the Chicago/River North IVF Center. Dr.Tucker has over 25 years of experience in this field. He has held leadership positions at prominent IVF labs overseas and in the USA, including Georgia Reproductive Specialists, Maine Center for Reproductive Health, Mississippi IVF, Reproductive Specialists of New York, Reproductive Associates of Delaware, and Shady Grove Fertility RSC. He has authored many research papers, two books, most recently with Dr. Liebermann, a definitive text on vitrification. Dr. Tucker has taught many courses in the area of assisted reproduction. In 2002, the American Fertility Association (AFA) awarded Dr. Tucker their “Family Building Award," recognizing his tireless contributions in the community, for helping AFA and those affected by infertility.
JoRene Bigler-Vollman, RN, MSN
JoRene Bigler-Vollman, RN, MSN has worked in the field of reproductive medicine since 1994. She has worked in all aspects of the field, including fertility nursing, surgery, third-party reproduction and IVF. She is currently the IVF Clinical Nurse Manager for FCI's River North Center. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Masters of Science degree in Adult Nursing (MSN) with a focus in reproductive medicine from Loyola University. She strives for the unit to provide patients with a compassionate and caring experience while going through the IVF process. She is a member of The American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
